Even if it's the kiddie pool, this weekend will be a great opportunity to spend some time around the water.
High temperatures and humidity are not going anywhere. Highs will be in the middle 80 sot the lower 90s Friday through Tuesday. Thanks to that, most of us will be hiding inside in the AC this weekend or finding ways to cool off. Please keep that in mind - find ways to keep cool! Heat kills more folks in the U.S. than tornadoes, and it can be prevented. Be sure to stay in the AC, avoid exercising or being in the sun during the hottest parts of the day, and stay hydrated. Also, don't forget how beneficial a quick dip in a pool or even a cool bathtub can be in avoiding heat stress.
The CDC has resources for you if you need to get brushed up on signs of heat-related illness. Med City Marathoners, 20 milers, and Half Marathoners! I highly recommend you read these so you're ready to recognize the signs before you get in trouble. The Runcast page is a perfect spot to get current and forecast conditions the morning of the race.
