Waseca officer recovering from reconstructive surgery

(ABC 6 News) - Waseca Officer Arik Matson is recovering after reconstructive surgery.

According to his CaringBridge page, the surgery was to repair fractures in his skull and face and "went well".

The page says a valve was put on his trach for about 10 minutes allowing him to speak. 

"We got a noise or two out of him after Megan bribed him with a kiss so that was a good start to the day!"

The page also says there will be some swelling and pain the next few days as he heals.
