(ABC 6 News) - A local business opened its doors to help bake Christmas cookies for hospice patients.
Volunteers spent Thursday morning baking in the Kahler Apache kitchens to make over 200 dozen cookies for families.
With many hospice patients having months to live, volunteers like Sandy Stensland said they want to lift up their spirits any way they can.
"We feel the families have many things, many responsibilities right now with what’s going on in their lives so this is something we can do to bring some joy to lighten the load a little bit, give them some Christmas family cookies to enjoy,” said Stensland.
Starting Friday all of the cookies will be hand-delivered to each family for the holidays.
