(ABC 6 News) - It’s an online sale that went bad.

A 19-year-old Austin man told police he was trying to sell two video game systems online and started negotiating a price with a prospective buyer who identified himself as CTG.

The buyer and seller agreed to meet on Wednesday evening near the Austin band shell. The seller showed up with the video systems … an Xbox with one controller and a Play Station with two controllers and four games in a backpack.

The buyer showed up with a friend and reportedly offered to trade an iPhone for the video game systems.

The seller said he needed cash to pay his rent, and the buyer suggested that they walk to his house so he could get some cash. But on the way, the man snatched the backpack, and he and his companion took off running.

The seller was unable to catch them.

The victim valued the missing video game systems at $650.
