A tornado watch is in place just south of the local area until 7pm. The setup is favorable for weak tornadoes across parts of Iowa, but that setup isn't as favorable moving further northward as we just don't have the big ingredients needed to create strong thunderstorms.
Our biggest concern will be too much rain south of I90 and west of I35 later tonight. That's where 1-2" of widespread rain could fall over a waterlogged ground creating unexpected water rises. Remember to stay out of flooded areas should you come across one.
