Tuesday marks National Voter Registration Day

(ABC 6 News) – Tuesday is National Voter Registration day — and states and counties across the country are trying to encourage more voter turnout for the upcoming midterm election.

People’s Energy Co-op based in Oronoco held an event Tuesday afternoon for people to come out and register to vote.

There are many ways to register to vote in Minnesota.

You can register in person at your local government center, by mail, online at the secretary of state’s office or in person when you go to cast your vote on election day.

“Every member at the cooperative has a voice in how it’s run so we very much believe in the democratic process, having your voice heard. And so that translates very easily to the election year.”>

Early voting for the November general election starts Friday.
