Colorectal cancer awareness month

(ABC 6 News) – Rochester Mayor Kim Norton at at the Hope Lodge proclaimed March as colorectal cancer awareness month in the city.

Colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer related deaths in the United States in both men and women.

It’s estimated it will take the lives of more than 52 thousand people in the U.S. this year alone.

ABC 6 News anchor spoke with Dr. John Kisiel, a gastroenterologist at Mayo Clinic about the importance of screening.
