(ABC 6 News) – The Midwest’s largest and most colorful winter kite festival is returning to Clear Lake on Saturday.

The ‘Color the Wind Kite Festival’ features huge inflatable kites of all kinds flown by serious kite-flyers from across the United States.

The display of beautiful colors, the sheer size of some of the kites, and the incredible choreography of the musical numbers are really something to behold.

The event takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Clear Lake by the Seawall downtown.

Kites will be available for purchase at the Lakeview Room. You can also bring your own kite to fly.

In addition to downtown on-street parking, there will be free parking at CLHS (125 N 20th St) and Industrial Park (500 S 17th St) and complimentary shuttles to & from downtown from 10:30am-4:30pm.
