A warm front surges through the area for Thursday afternoon briefly sending our temps up into the lower to middle 80s. Accompanying this warmth will be a modest boost in humidity levels. A cold front will be in quick succession.
Along each of these we'll have a couple of rounds of thunderstorms to monitor. The first develops Thursday afternoon, after 4 pm continuing into the evening. The second will occur after the first, later into the overnight. The first wave looks to be the primary threat for severe weather.
Initially, individual thunderstorms will develop locally. With time, they'll grow into a cluster/line and move eastward with time. If an individual thunderstorm starts moving southeast, we'll have a better chance for seeing a tornado or two form. All threats are possible with this early activity. Damaging wind and large hail included.
A second wave will trail the cold front a bit. This should keep the severe threat lower. If we do see a stronger storm, more than likely wind would be the threat.
All rain will be out before sunrise on Friday.
