Suspects in Mississippi shooting arrested in Zumbrota

(ABC 6 News) - Suspects in a Mississippi shooting arrested during a traffic stop in Zumbrota.

According to the Zumbrota Police Department, Monday at 5:00 a.m., an officer made a traffic stop on US-52. During the stop, the officer learned the driver and three passengers were traveling from Mississippi to Brooklyn Park, MN and that one of the men had a felony warrant from Mississippi.


According to police, the officer developed probable cause to search the vehicle and discovered marijuana and two handguns. Zumbrota police said the men did not have carry permits for those firearms.

Police said one man was released and the other three were booked at the Goodhue County Jail.

Tuesday, Zumbrota Police and the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office said they were notified by Tunica County, Mississippi authorities that warrants had been issued for Jernard Montell Black and Martrevious Daveyun Sanders for a shooting in Tunica on January 26.

Both are being held on those warrants. Sanders is also being held on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

The third man, Tarrian Trenell Black is being held on charges of felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm with controlled substance use.
