(ABC 6 News) - An Iowa man was killed over the weekend after he was buried in an avalanche in Wyoming. 

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Taylor Bruggeman of St. Ansgar.

Teton County Coroner, Dr. Brent Blue, tells ABC 6 News that Bruggeman, and several others, were riding snowmobiles near Jackson Hole, Wyoming on Sunday when the avalanche occurred. 

The Associated Press reports Bruggeman's riding partners saw him get buried and could see part of his snowmobile, but couldn't find him.

One of the friends stayed to dig while the other one rode about 30 minutes to where he could get cell service.
