UPDATE: (ABC 6 News) -- Rochester Police said the 24-year-old victim from Rochester in Tuesday night's shooting told authorities he went to the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) parking lot that night to meet someone to buy "something."
Rochester Police Lieutenant Frank Ohm said the victim pulled into the parking lot with three passengers in his vehicle; a woman and two children, both under five-years-old.
According to a police report, the victim got out of his vehicle and approached a silver vehicle to make his purchase. Lieutenant Ohm said the victim realized there were five people in that vehicle, and that something else was going on. Police said that was when the victim attempted to get away and was shot once in the upper left arm and grazed across his chest by a bullet.
Based on the evidence found at the scene, Lieutenant Ohm said three shots were fired, the third shot hit the victim's car on the driver's side.
According to police, all shots were fired from the same 9 mm handgun. Lieutenant Ohm said this shooting does not appear to be connected to a shooting in southeast Rochester that happened over the weekend.
The victim said he did not know the men in the silver vehicle.
Lieutenant Ohm also said when officers were on scene Tuesday night, they received a report of a stolen silver Nissan Altima, matching the description of the vehicle that fled the KFC parking lot after the shooting.
Officers recovered the Altima at the Quarry Hill West Pavillion.
No one is in custody.
