We have been letting our viewers know that there's a chance for severe weather as we go into later parts of this week. There's now a marginal risk for severe weather Thursday into Friday; while the lowest of the five categories outlined by the Storm Prediction Center, the marginal risk is in place across portions of the ABC 6 forecast area for large hail as well as strong wind gusts. However, we can not rule out the possibility for an isolated tornado or two because these storms may form along a lifting warm front. While weak, a warm front is a source of lift as well as an area of rotation. Not to mention, there will be plenty of instability as well as moisture overhead by the time Thursday arrives.
