(ABC 6 News) - One person was airlifted to the hospital after a semi-truck versus SUV accident Friday morning in Cerro Gordo County.
According to the Cerro Gordo Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the accident on Lark Ave and 210th St. around 10:28 a.m.
Witnesses at the scene told deputies the SUV was heading northbound on Lark Ave. and did not come to a complete stop before pulling out onto 210th St. where it was struck by a semi with a grain trailer heading westbound.
The sheriff's office said the semi was unable to stop in time and hit the passenger side of the SUV, pushing it around 50 feet on the roadway.
The driver of the SUV was taken by Mercy Air Med to the hospital with unknown injuries, the driver of the semi was not injured in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
