Security Measures in Place After Threat Made at Austin High School

(ABC 6 News) -- Austin High School will have additional security measures in place Tuesday after a threat was made on Monday. 

According to district officials, a note was found at the high school Monday with a threat scheduled for December 18.  Officials say law enforcement has been notified and are working with the district.

"The safety and security of our students and staff are of the utmost importance to the district. Therefore, there will be additional security measures in place at Austin High School tomorrow.  All activities prior to 7:30 AM at Austin High School have been canceled tomorrow Tuesday, December 18," according to the district statement.

The building will open for students at 7:30 AM.  All students must enter through Door #1 and #13 on the east side.  Students will need to show their student ID and students will be checked at the door. The campus will be closed throughout the day and no students will be allowed to leave for lunch.
