(ABC 6 News) - There is a new random act of kindness taking over Southeast Minnesota.
If you happen to find a basket outside your house filled with goodies, You've been Wined!
Jessica Fenske saw this trend taking place in Michigan and decided to bring it here. After creating the private Facebook group, which you must be 21 and older to join, the idea took off. In just 10 days of being active, the group has over 15,000 members.
Each town in SE Minnesota has a thread and anyone who is in the group can participate. The baskets can be filled with anything and given to anyone. A lot the baskets have been filled with snacks, candy, wine, other types of alcohol, and other pick-me-ups like spa day essentials.
The idea is to spread joy and positivity during these tough times.
"To get a gift..is for some people, I mean everybody, it's amazing," co-administrator of the Facebook group, Kiley Curlee, said. "It's like, '"someone is thinking about me? Oh my goodness."' It's just heartwarming."
How to get involved
Curlee said there are a couple of different ways to get into the group, one of which is to make a Facebook post or status because, "there are so many people in the group that even if they just made a Facebook status or post, somebody is bound to know about the group and invite them." If that doesn't work, anyone interested can reach out to her or Fenske on Facebook and they can add you.
Curlee added there are two questions everyone must answer after receiving the invitation: 1) Are you 21 years or older? 2) Are you from Southeastern Minnesota?
