(ABC 6 News) -- A woman is facing forgery charges after police said she tried to cash stolen checks from a Rochester business.

Rochester Interim Police Chief John Sherwin said 22-year-old Alie Staven was arrested on June 12 after she tried to cash a stolen check for $8200 at the Wells Fargo on East Center Street. Interim Chief Sherwin said Staven had successfully cashed another stolen check for $4000 the week prior.

Employees at the business told officers there was no forced entry into their building and believe the checks were stolen by someone who had access to the building.
