Traffic Stop Leads to Two Arrests, Two Officers Injured

(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester police said a man was arrested after not cooperating with a traffic stop. A 17-year-old girl was also arrested after she came out of a nearby Subway and allegedly yelled at officers. 

A Rochester police officer pulled over 18-year-old Davante Williams for allegedly not stopping at a stop sign. It happened on the 100 block of 20 St. SE just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16. During the traffic stop, the officer said Williams was not being cooperative and resisted arrest.

The officer called for backup. Police said that's when two teenage girls who work at a nearby Subway restaurant came outside. One of the teens reportedly knows Williams and started yelling at officers while WIlliams was allegedly fighting with the officers. 

Officers eventually arrested Williams and took him to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center. He's facing charges of obstruction of justice, driving without a license, and failure to stop. The 17-year-old was also arrested and is facing an obstruction charge. 

Two police officers had minor injures but did not need medical attention.
