Alabama Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen in Rochester

(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester police were called to the Microtel on the West Frontage Road of Highway 52 around 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 19. 

People in the hotel reported hearing a woman screaming from a room saying things like "help me" and "don't touch me".

When police got there, they heard yelling and screaming and made contact with the woman in that room. Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen said she's a 17-year-old from Rochester. 

Capt. Moilanen said the 17-year-old told officers she met 27-year-old Anthony Johnson on an online dating website. The two met in person for the first time on Satuday night, May 18, went on a date, and got a hotel room. 

The girl said that on Sunday morning, Johnson sexually and physically assaulted her. She said he took her phone so she couldn't call 911. 

The girl went to Mayo Clinic Hospital - Saint Marys campus and Johnson was arrested. He is facing a 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct charge as well as a domestic assault charge, and a charge for interfering with a 911 call.
