The sessions will take place on October 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center.

Rochester Police Sergeant John Mitchell said "If we have members of the community afraid to contact the police department, that makes everyone not safe."

The academy is in partnership with several community organizations including the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, Intercultural Mutual Assistance Association and Victim's Services.

To register for the workshop, call Sgt. Mitchell at 507-328-6901 or email him at jbmitchell@rochestermn.gov.
