(ABC 6 News) -- According to the Rochester Police Department, around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, an officer saw 24-year-old Michael Bunnell driving in the area of 14th Street and Assissi Drive in Rochester. The officer knew that Bunnell didn't have a driver's license, so he tried to pull Bunnell over.

Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin said Bunnell then took off, leading the officer on a short chase. The officer ended the chase for safety reasons but said he saw Bunnell's car running, unoccupied, at a home on the 900 block of 13 Ave NW.

Police surrounded that home, and say Bunnell eventually came out. He allegedly had 16 grams of methamphetamine on him as well as some marijuana.

He was arrested and is facing charges of fleeing in a motor vehicle, 2nd-degree sales of a controlled substance and 3rd-degree drug possession.

Sherwin said, as of Thursday morning, Bunnell was not in jail because at some point during the incident, he allegedly ingested meth, and went to the hospital.
