UPDATE: Police Identify Victim of Fatal Motorcycle Crash

(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester police have identified the man who died in a Wednesday morning crash as 28-year-old Rodney Gates of Rochester.  

Rochester Police Lieutenant Mike Sadauskis said 22-year-old Emily Hartmann of Rochester was driving a Toyota Prius and was pulling out of the area of Gentling Dental Care. She was turning left onto Broadway. Lt. Sadauskis said Hartmann didn't see Gates on the motorcycle and pulled out in front of him, causing him to crash into the driver's side of her Prius.

Gates was driving a motorcycle owned by a friend. He was not wearing a helmet. 

The incident is under investigation. As of right now, no citations or charges are being filed.

(ABC 6 News) - One person is dead after a motorcycle vs. car crash at the intersection of North Broadway Avenue and Northern Heights Drive North East in Rochester Wednesday morning.

According to a Rochester police officer at the scene, it appears that the  crash happened when a car coming out of a nearby business and crossing traffic collided with a motorcycle traveling northbound on Broadway.

Police said officers attempted lifesaving procedures but the motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene.  The officer also noted the male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Police said the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
