According to Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen, there were a few people in an apartment drinking when the suspect asked the victim to borrow his cell phone. The victim allegedly said yes and gave the suspect the phone, but wouldn't give him the passcode.

Capt. Moilanen identified the suspect as 20-year-old Jose Delgado.

Delgado allegedly got mad at the victim for not giving him the passcode, and pulled out a knife and machete. Delgado allegedly swung the machete at the victim, and the victim grabbed it trying to protect himself. When he grabbed it, the victim got cut on the hand and went to the hospital.

When police got there, both the victim and suspect were gone. After speaking with the victim at the hospital, officers arrested Delgado near the Holiday Gas Station on 4 St. around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Delgado is facing a 2nd-degree assault charge, and a terroristic threats charge.

Delgado was accused of threatening someone with a machete in a Rochester skyway in April. He was not charged in that case.
