(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen corrected information surrounding the KFC shooting in SE Rochester in October.

Last week, police identified Luke Giwa as the suspected shooter in the case and George Oliver as the driver of the getaway car. However, on Tuesday, November 12, Capt. Moilanen issued a statement via email saying the reverse is true.

The statement reads, in part, "This has been a very active investigation, whereas  multiple search warrants have been executed and numerous subjects have been interviewed.  It is our belief that George Oliver was the shooter in this case and Luke Giwa was the person that aided Mr Oliver.  As such, the charges noted on the criminal complaints are accurate.  I apologize for any miscommunication and/or confusion in this matter."

Oliver is facing charges of 2nd-degree assault and Giwa is facing an aiding and abetting charge for allegedly driving the getaway car.

The shooting happened on October 23 at the KFC in SE Rochester. A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg and another 16-year-old boy was grazed by a bullet after Oliver allegedly shot into the teens' car. The teens suffered non life-threatening injuries.

According to court documents, one of the victims got into a fight with Oliver and Giwa at China Hall a few weeks before the shooting.
