(ABC 6 News) -- Police said a garage fire that happened on Wednesday, May 29 is not likely arson, but still suspicious. That fire happened around 12:30 a.m. on the 1500 block of 19th Ave. in SE Rochester.

According to the Rochester Fire Department, (23) 55 gallon plastic containers, and (1) 200 gallon plastic container, containing 1100 gallons of E85 fuel, were found inside the garage.

A company was called in to remove the fuel.

According to the Rochester Police department, investigators say the fire was not likely arson, but that "something criminal in nature" happened. More details are expected to be released in the coming days.

The interior of a Rochester garage was damaged by a fire early Wednesday morning. 

According to the Rochester Fire Department, it happened around 12:30 a.m. on the 1500 block of 19th Ave. SE. 

Firefighters arrived at the scene at saw smoke and flames coming out of a detached garage. The fire was put out quickly and ventilated, according to a release.

According to Rochester Police Lieutenant Mike Sadauskis, the fire department suspects arson as the cause. A Rochester police investigator is working with the Rochester Fire Department to investigate. 

There was smoke and fire damage to the space and some contents inside the garage. The estimated value of the damage is $7,500. No one lives in the home. 

No one was injured.
