(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester Police believe two cases of gunshots being fired in Rochester are connected.
According to Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin, a witness called police to report a crash between two vehicles near 41 St. and West River Parkway at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday. The caller said a blue vehicle and a black vehicle appeared to be chasing each other when they collided and then both took off.
Before officers could even respond to that case, another call came in at 6:46 p.m. Witnesses reported gunshots fired at the intersection of 14 St. NW and Valleyhigh Drive, near Colonial Lanes bowling alley.
In that case, witnesses told police a blue car was pulled over onto 14 St., blocking the road. A man allegedly got out of the passenger side of that car, ducked behind the vehicle and fired shots at a black vehicle. Both vehicles were gone when police got there.
Then, at 6:56 p.m., officers were called to the 3200 block of Oxford Ln NW for another report of gunfire. In this case, witnesses reported seeing two vehicles, a blue car and a black car, chasing each other and people in the vehicles were firing shots at each other. Officers found multiple shell casings from two different guns in the street on Oxford Lane.
As they were investigating, an officer found a blue vehicle empty in the parking lot of Lincolnshire Park. Witnesses say at least four men got out that vehicle. Police were able to talk to someone connected to that vehicle who is considered a person of interest in the case. That interview lead police to find a handgun in the vehicle.
So far no arrests have been made and no victims have come forward. Anyone with information should contact the Rochester Police Department.
