(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester police were called to a stabbing around 1:45 Saturday afternoon, March 16 on the 800 block of Center Street West.
A 16-year-old boy and his mother were out shopping, leaving his 16-year-old girlfriend at home. When they got back, the two teens got into an argument over infidelity. The mom heard a loud thump and something breaking.
She went into the bedroom to find the window broken and told police the girl had stabbed the boy in the chest with a piece of broken glass.
According to Rochester Police Lieutenant Mike Sadauskis, the girl was still holding the glass when police got there. She allegedly wouldn't put it down at first, but eventually threw it in the kitchen.
The boy was taken to the hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. Lt. Sadauskis said the boy was alert and talking when police got there.
The girl was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center. She's facing charges of 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, and disorderly conduct.
Lt. Sadauskis said the suspect's mother told police that the boy had been abusive to her daughter in the past.
