(ABC 6 News) -- Authorities said a Rochester man is back behind bars less than one week after getting out of jail on other charges.

According to Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen, an officer saw a black Ford Focus turn into a wrong lane around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11. The officer pulled that vehicle over near the intersection of 7 Ave and 7 St. SE.

Capt. Moilanen said the driver appeared to be under the influence. After calling in a drug recognition expert, the officer determined the driver was under the influence of a controlled substance. When the officer went to arrest the man, he allegedly resisted and tried to run.

The suspect was eventually arrested and brought to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center. Capt. Moilanen said officers found about 9.7 grams of methamphetamine in the man's vehicle, as well as 1.86 grams of heroin and a digital scale.

Capt. Moilanen identified that suspect as 36-year-old Brandon Wenthold of Rochester. Authorities got a search warrant for a blood draw, and Wenthold allegedly wouldn't cooperate. He's now facing charges of 3rd-degree DWI refusal, 4th-degree DWI, 5th-degree controlled substance, obstructing the legal process, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of drug paraphernalia, and crossing the center line.
