One Arrested After Allegedly Fighting with Family Members, Police Officer

(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester police got a call around 11:40 Wednesday morning, August 15 that a man was, intoxicated, "out of control" and was getting into a physical altercation with family members. 

It happened on the 3000 block of River Falls Rd. NW. According to Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin, when an officer got there the suspect, 33-year-old Matthew Lawson, was trying to leave in a vehicle and then walked back toward the home.

When the officer tried to arrest him, Lawson allegedly resisted and got into a struggle with the officer. The officer tazed Lawson and eventually got him into custody. 

The officer was not injured in the struggle, but his uniform got damaged. 

Lawson is facing charges of obstruction of justice, domestic assault and disorderly conduct.
