Authorities say two men came into the store right before closing, showed a handgun, and demanded money from the safe.

It happened at the Coldstone Creamery at 2650 South Broadway around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, February 5.

Two employees were working and say that right before closing, two men came in. They allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded money from the safe, according to Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin.

The employees don't have access to the safe but the suspects made off with a small amount of cash from the register, said Capt. Sherwin.

Police are reviewing surveillance video. One of the men is described as a clean-shaven black man with a deep voice wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the strings pulled tight and about 18 years old.

The other man, the one that Capt. Sherwin said had the gun, is described as a hispanic man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a black bandana over his face with a white pattern on it. He was about 5' 6" tall.

The employees told police that the suspects took off in a silver car. According to Capt. Sherwin, when police got there they found the gun the suspects used; it was in a snow bank and was a pellet gun.
