Rochester Man Arrested After Allegedly Doing "Burnouts" in Classic Car, Crashing

(ABC 6 News) -- Authorities said 70-year-old Dennis Kiefer lost control of his car and hit a tree. His passenger was sent to the hospital and Kiefer is facing DWI and Criminal Vehicular Operation charges. 

The crash happened around 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 21 on the 100 block of Front St. in Eyota. Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns said Kiefer was doing "burnouts" in a 1966 Classic Chevrolet. After the crash, Kiefer allegedly admitted to drinking four beers and deputies conducted field sobriety tests.

Kiefer was taken to the hospital and then to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center. 

His passenger, 44-year-old Laura Schroeder, suffered a broken leg and needed stitches in her head. 

Deputies got a blood sample from Kiefer. He's facing possible charges of Criminal Vehicular Operation, 4th-degree DWI and reckless driving.
