Two People in Jail After Officers Reportedly Discover Meth During Traffic Stop

(ABC 6 News) - Two people are in jail after a man reportedly resisted arrest after a traffic stop; Rochester Police officers allegedly found drugs in the vehicle.

About 10 p.m. Tuesday, an officer recognized Misty Wenthold behind the wheel of a car; he knew she didn't have a valid driver's license, and pulled the vehicle over.

The male passenger in the front seat was not wearing a seatbelt, the report says.

Authorities say the man gave them a fake name; when they learned his real name, they discovered he had an active warrant for his arrest.The man, later identified as Joshua Carlson, resisted arrest and was tased.

Police said they also found methamphetamine and hypodermic needles in the vehicle, as well as mail, checks and credit cards that did not belong to either Carlson or Wenthold. 

Carlson could face charges of fifth-degree drug possession, drug paraphernalia and obstruction of legal process. 

Wenthold was also arrested; she could be charged with fifth-degree controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and driving after revocation.
