(ABC 6 News) -- Louisiana Senator made good on his bet with Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar on Wednesday.
Sen. John Kennedy and Klobuchar wagered on the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints Game. With the Vikings miraculous win with time running out, Kennedy brought a traditional Louisiana King Cake to Klobuchar.
Even though Klobuchar came out the winner, she still shared her side of the bet, offering up Kemp's Purple Power ice cream, which was created in Rochester.
Kemps went into action on Thursday after Klobuchar asked if they could help. The vanilla-flavored purple ice cream has little chocolate footballs.
Kemps says it took quick thinking to pull it together.
"Got all the ingredients together and tried to come up with a purple ice cream but it's not something that's standard for us so it took a little while but the team all worked together," said Rich Nohner, Kemps Research and Development Director.
Eight containers were shipped to Klobuchar on Monday. Kemps tells us Purple Power ice cream might hit stores in the future.
