(ABC 6 News) -- SocialIce has come and gone, and while the cold temperatures worked well for the ice sculptures, they interfered with the number of visitors.
Rochester Downtown Alliance tries to keep the SocialIce experience fresh for visitors, this year by incorporating new heating attractions and some new thems.
But according to Meghann Southwick, acting director of events and strategic partnerships, the weather had the final say.
"We had that nice little wintry mix on Thursday, which definitely I think hindered some of the attendance this year," she said. "In addition, Friday was bitterly cold, so we definitely saw a decreate over those two days. But Saturday proved to be a very successful day as far as attendance goes."
Southwick says despite the inconsistent weather, the new additions like the heated igloo and the Fam-Jam event on Saturday showed that people stayed at the event longer.
