(ABC 6 News)- UPDATE: Rochester Parks and Recreation Department said the water advisory at Foster Arend is no longer in effect.
The department said water tests conducted by Olmsted County Public Health and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency showed there were no toxins or harful bacteria present.
A health advisory has been issued for Foster Arends Beach due to a possible blue-green algae bloom.
The advisory was issued by Olmsted County Public Health and the Rochester Parks and Recreation Department on Friday, July 12.
The health department said blue-green algae blooms are harmful and can make both humans and animals sick.
Water samples have been collected and are being analyzed.
