(ABC 6 News) -- Rochester police believe a suspect who entered a woman's garage overnight Wednesday, then tried to force his way inside her locked home, planned his crime.
A woman called law enforcement about 9 a.m. Thursday, sending officers to the 1800 block of 26th Street NW.
She'd discovered damage to the frame of the door leading from the attached garage into the house, the report says, as if someone had tried to pry open the locked door.
When she entered the garage, she saw two duffel bags that didn't belong to her, said Capt. John Sherwin. Things in the garage had been moved and her vehicle appeared to have been searched.
The woman also found a blue latex glove in her driveway, and the hood of a sweatshirt was draped over her outdoor motion light sensor.
Though nothing was taken, Sherwin said, the incident serves as a reminder to keep house doors locked and remove all valuables from your vehicles, even if they're parked inside a garage.
