(ABC 6 News) - Austin held a one-night only art event on Wednesday. The Fourth Avenue Fest showcased art and music in the community.
Austin was one of five cities that received a grant from Forecast Public Arts to host an arts festival. It wasn't designed for participants to just listen or watch; the organizers wanted everyone who attended to get involved through an interactive percussion experience and chalk art.
"It's all free; we want to make sure that it's accessible to as many people as possible and we're inviting anyone inside or outside the community to come in and enjoy the event," said Holly Wallace, of the Austin Planning and Zoning Administration.
The Austin community band performed Wednesday evening and another free concert was held at the historic Paramount Theater.
