Event celebrates Rochester's disability community

(ABC 6 News) A Rochester group is hosting an event Monday to celebrate the disability community in the city.

From 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2nd, there will be events happening at the Rochester Civic Theatre.


The MaxAbility Taskforce of southeast Minnesota is hosting the event to celebrate diversity ahead of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Tuesday.

Events include:

  • 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Human Library | UN Enable Day Film Festival | Diverse Ability Experience
  • 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.: Keynote Speaker: Dr. Grossman
  • 4:30 -5:00 p.m.: Art & Ability Recognition and Hors d'oeuvres
  • 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.: Celebration of Talent and desserts
  • All day: Disability Art Exhibit

ABC 6 News Good Morning anchor Brianna Cook will emcee the Celebration of Talent and desserts event.
