(ABC 6 News) -- A Rochester man was arrested early Saturday morning after authorities said he led them on a chase.

According to Captain Scott Behrns with the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, the county's DUI deputy was on patrol on the 1000 block of South Broadway around 12:25 a.m. on April 21, when the deputy noticed a vehicle run a red light. The deputy also said the vehicle was going 45 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone.

The deputy tried to pull the driver over on 6th St. SW, but Captain Behrns said the driver took off, going around 60 miles per hour. The deputy called off the pursuit for safety purposes but was able to relay the license plate details and vehicle description to other law enforcement in the area.

Around 12:37 a.m. Rochester Police located the vehicle and pulled it over at the intersection of 7th St. NW and Valleyhigh Road. Captain Behrns said the driver, 42-year-old Carlos Blair, told the officer he had an open bottle in his vehicle and didn't feel like going to jail.

Blair is facing charges of fleeing, driving after revocation and reckless driving.
