(ABC 6 News) -- Memories from more than three decades ago were brought to light in Rochester.

On Tuesday, items from a time capsule buried 35 years ago at Golden Hill Elementary School were unveiled.  The time capsule was to commemorate the closing of the school.

It was filled with school projects and pictures of students and staff at the time.  Those who taught at the school say it's nice to look back.

"We just wanted to do something because it was going to be closed as an elementary school at that time and as far as we knew they were not going to open up as an elementary school. We wanted to leave our footprint on it," said retired teacher Morey Anderson.

Rochester Public Schools currently uses the space for its alternative learning center.
