(ABC 6 News) - The Rochester Salvation Army is in short supply of items needed to support clients at its day center.
Members are asking the public for help with hygiene items including shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, along with razors and combs.
Clients are taking at least 20 showers each day at the shelter, said Rebecca Snapp, Director of Community Engagement. Late into summer, community member stepped up to donate disposable masks and water bottles when the shelter ran short.
Operations for the day center shifted to the Mayo Civic Center during the start of the pandemic. The Rochester Public Library is involved with operations. The city has since hired The Landing MN to help run the shelter through October.
The shelter is located on the Salvation Army building at 115 1st Ave NE. If you'd like to learn more visit this link.
