(ABC 6 News) The Rochester Children's Museum is getting a new name and moving to a new building.

Now called Spark, playing is at 'the core of what we do.'

According to Spark's website, it will offer an all-new play space with interactive exhibits that will rotate throughout the year.

“Rochester is home to a growing number of young families,” said Melissa Brinkman, co-chair of the museum’s community board. “Moving to Apache Mall will allow us to have an even bigger impact for local residents and visitors with our exhibits and programming.”

The new location will be 7,000 square feet for space for exhibits and programming, double the current size of the museum.

Construction on the Apache Mall location is expected to be completed in time for a summer 2020 opening.

The existing location will remain open through Feb. 16, 2020.
