This storm system is really going to be a headache for our neighbors to the west in the Dakotas, as well as parts of far NW MN. Those locations are looking at significant snow, upwards of a foot and a half, to nearly two feet! And on top of that, they are looking at very strong winds as well, with gusts to & over 40 mph, bringing the potential for blizzard conditions for those areas. Closer to home, it won't be anywhere close to that. We are going to pick up a new half of an inch to an inch of rainfall. What about our local snow potential? Nothing like our neighbors in the Dakotas. We will see a few flurries fly possibly early Friday morning, then again later in the evening/overnight, with a few light rain and snow showers continuing into Saturday. While it may seem like a lot of potential, we have a pocket of dry air moving in on Friday, which will limit how much snow we see. Look for our local snowfall totals to be a dusting at best.
