Police: Woman Threatens a Man Using a Gun Because of a Facebook Post

August 13, 2018 10:34 AM

(ABC 6 News) -- Police say it all started with a Facebook post that a woman did not like. The woman told police that she had asked a man, who allegedly posted the message on Facebook, to take it down. However, the woman told police that the man allegedly became upset after she made that request. The woman did not know the man but had seen him around their apartment building before. According to Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office had been looking for a man with a felony warrant. The man had apparently taken a picture outside and was standing near a car. Deputies found the owner of that car, which happened to be Carrie Kukuzke, and asked her if she knew the man because he was wanted. She allegedly got mad and wanted the man to take down the picture.

Rochester Police were sent to Andover Apartments on 8 1/2 St. SE on Friday, August 10th, around 6:26 p.m. for a report of a woman pulling a gun on a male. When officers arrived they found the woman at the scene.

In a statement, at first, officers thought the woman was the victim. Eventually, they realized that she is the suspect. The woman told officers that after "politely" asking the man to take the Facebook post down, the man became upset, "and got in her face and called her names."

Police also said that the woman's teen daughter tried to intervene and things became physical with some pushing between the male and teenage daughter. It was at this time that police say the woman got a handgun from the apartment, pointed the gun at the man fearing he would hurt her daughter.  According to witnesses, however, the woman was upset over the Facebook post, so she and her daughter confronted the man, attacked him, and the mom pointed the gun at the man.

Carrie Kukuzke was arrested for 2nd Degree Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. She was booked at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center on Friday.
