(ABC 6 News) -- UPDATE: Mason City Police say they have found the dog and it has been kenneled. Police say the victim positively identified the dog involved in the attack.

Police are asking the public's help in locating a dog owner after a victim was bitten multiple times in a dog attack incident early Saturday morning.

The Mason City Police Department sent out a statement on Saturday after a man was reportedly attacked in his front yard located in the 1400 block of North Carolina Place. The incident took place at about 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Police say the victim was bitten multiple times and required immediate attention for his injuries.  

The dog is described as "a very large Pitbull Terrier style dog being primarily gray (blue) in color" with white fur on the back part of the head that continued down the side of its face to the chest. Police also say the dog has white legs.  

In the statement, police say the victim told them "he had never seen the dog in the neighborhood before and was uncertain who the owner was." 

The Mason City Police Department is asking the public's help for more information about the dog.
