(ABC 6 News) -- Icy roads played a part in a number of accidents in Southeast Minnesota Monday.

According to Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns, between 6 a.m. February 19 and 7:30 a.m. February 20, deputies responded to 4 traffic related incidents, 8 property damage accidents and 3 injury accidents.

One of those injury accidents involved an Olmsted County plow driver.  Captain Behrns said the 46-year-old driver was clearing a road on the 9400 block of Orion Township around 3:30 p.m. February 19 when he hit a icy spot and slid.  The truck went into the ditch, said Captain Behrns, and rolled onto its side.

The driver hit his head, said Captain Behrns, and was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus by Chatfield Ambulance.
