(ABC 6 NEWS) It was a message to remind us of what the holidays are really about.
It came from a lonely caller to a radio show in Pennsylvania who didn't want to spend thanksgiving alone. So more than 100 people, mostly strangers, came to show him he wasn't alone.
60-year-old Carl Braun, a disabled veteran, went from having no plans and no one to spend the holidays with to having more invitations than he knew what to do with.
He was booked for thanksgiving dinner and now has a Christmas Eve party to attend.
And Carl has a message for us: keep your hearts open all year, not just around the holidays.
