Pine Island Woman Facing Possible Burglary, Assault Charges

(ABC 6 News) -- The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office got a call from two homeowners around 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 7. The two said they had gone out for breakfast and when they got home, there was a woman in their house coming out of the bathroom. She allegedly tried to steal jewelry, prescription drugs, and collector coins. 

According to Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns, the homeowners tried to keep the woman in the home until authorities could arrive. The woman allegedly tried to push past the homeowners saying "you can't keep me here. This is an assault." She also allegedly shoved one of the homeowners in the shoulder.

She ended up leaving and was later arrested in Pine Island by the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office. Capt. Behrns identified her as 23-year-old Barbara Larson of Pine Island. 

According to Capt. Behrns, Larson is a suspect in other recent burglaries in the area as well. 

Larson is facing a possible burglary charge and a 5th-degree assault charge.
