In-Depth at 6:30 - Battling Opioid Addiction

(ABC 6 News) -- Several of Minnesota's largest counties are on the verge of joining a national wave of government lawsuits to help battle the opioid epidemic. 

The lawsuits target manufacturers and distributors of opioid prescriptions causing the epidemic of addiction and deaths.
The suits seek damages for the governments' costs in handling the opioid epidemic, including law enforcement, medical treatment, and social services.
In response to other lawsuits, representatives of the defendants have denied any wrongdoing.


Allea Butler and Nicole Wallin sat down with Betsy Singer to talk about their struggles with opioid addiction and what Recovery is Happening are doing to help fight the opioid crisis in Southeast Minnesota.
