(ABC 6 News) - A Brook Park man is in custody after he reportedly pushed an Olmsted County Sheriff's deputy down a flight of stairs.

According to Olmsted County Sheriff's Office Captain Scott Behrns, just before 9 a.m. a deputy initiated a traffic stop on the 400 block of 5th Ave. SE for expired tabs.

Behrns said the suspect was not complying with the deputy's directions and began walking toward a nearby residence.  Behrns said the suspect went into the doorway of a residence and when the deputy pulled out her taser the suspect reportedly yelled, "just tase me."

Behrns said the deputy did deploy the taser and that the suspect pulled out the probes, charged the deputy and pushed her down a flight of stairs into the basement of the residence and fled.

Behrns said a manhunt ensued and that the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Tyler Noreen, eventually turned himself in.

Noreen is facing possible charges of 3rd-degree felony assault, 4th-degree felony assault on an officer, obstructing the legal process and a misdemeanor for fleeing on foot.

Behrns said the deputy received stitches and is out of work for the time being.
